3rd October - Trust launch match gathers pace

Preparations for the first outing of the Crawley Town Legends side at the Devils Trust launch event are gathering pace and the provisional squad for the historic Reds line-up have been unveiled.

The initial group of ex-Reds who will be turning out against a team from Sussex football website Nomad Online at Oakwood FC on Sunday, October 15, are former managers Tony Vesssey and Cliff Cant and popular players like Steve Breach, Tommy Warrilow, Andy Riley and Nigel Brake.

Trust spokesman Phil Agius said: “The squad is improving all the time, although sadly it looks like Danny Carroll, who injured his hamstring last week, might have to join Ian Payne and Warren Bagnall cheering the boys on from the sidelines. We have some more big names in the pipeline and there are even rumours that former MD Steve Duly will be donning the gloves and going in goal.”

“It might look like we've got enough players already, but some of the legends tell us they might need regular breathers and we would still be delighted to hear from all former players and staff of all ages to be our guests on the day.

The current provisional CTFC Legends squad is: Paul Adam, Nigel Brake, Steve Breach, Cliff Cant, Steve Duly, Mark Ford, Viv Jeffery, Conrad Kane, Scott Mean, Umberto Oliva, Dave Palmer, Gary Richards, Andy Riley, Lee Turner, Tony Vessey, Francis Vines, Tommy Warrilow.

Kick-off is at 2pm, but supporters are advised to arrive from 1pm onwards to help with car parking and to enable them to see the Legends being introduced to the crowd before the game. Admission is £5 for adults and £2 for concessions.
