27th July - Throw your support behind the team urges Devils Trust

Crawley Town supporters are being urged to attend home games again by the Devils Trust. The Trust had enjoyed considerable support for a boycott in a protest at the way the club was being run by Chas and Azwar Majeed. Following Tuesday's decision to place the club up for sale, the Trust was still urging people to stay away from games while they sought advice from the club's administrators.

Speaking on behalf of the Trust, Antony Weller said: "Things are happening at a tremendous speed with regard to the future ownership of the club. When we asked supporters to stay away we did so in the belief that money being given into the club could be used to prop up the ailing Majeed ownership.

"Over the last 24 hours we have sought assurances that this is not the case and that no money from the home pre-season friendlies, the Redz bar or the stadium catering outlets would be able to be support them.

"We have now had those assurances from people and organisations we trust and those who have the best future interest of the club at heart . As a result we are happy to return to supporting the players in person at a stadium so beloved by Crawley fans.

"The Trust has always, and will continue to do so, worked with the very best interests of the football club as its core value and we hope that a return to the stands and terraces for many is the latest step on a long path to the recovery those fans so richly deserve."
